Lessons: Learn Social Dancing including: Salsa, Merengue, Rumba, Cha Cha, Samba, Hustle, Swing, Tango, Waltz, Foxtrot, and Quickstep in a comfortable and friendly environment. The Let's Learn to Dance Studio has a beautiful, large, wooden dance floor, important to the traveling Ballroom dances.

Your customized dance program builds on a foundation of private lessons focusing on the students' priorities, interests and schedule. Group lessons supplement the students' private lessons. Social activities such and practice parties, competitions and showcases provide plenty of opportunity to practise and reinforce new steps in a fun and supportive environment.

Background: Originally from Venezuela, Alex has been teaching people to dance in Toronto since 1997.  He has various dancing and teaching certifications and continually refines and upgrades his skill.  He began dancing when he was very young and preformed in shows while still living in Venezuela.  When he moved to Canada he hadn't expected to find dancing to be as popular as it is.  He had hoped but hadn't expected to be able to continue his dancing career.  Dancing is Alex's passion; and this passion is contagious. Just ask his students.

Students: His students range from beginners with no dancing experience at all to experienced dancers from this or other disciplines. Ages range from young adults to seniors.  Both couples and individuals are welcome.  Alex's passion and talent makes learning to dance a positive experience leaving you anxious for your next lesson. He says learning to dance requires hard work and practise but it must also be fun and he is successful in helping you achieving this balance.

Where to Dance: There are many places in Toronto to dance any of the dances you will learn from Alex, whether you prefer the Latin dances like Salsa & Merengue, or Ballroom dances such as the Waltz. See the list of links below for some popular websites reviewing dance venues in Toronto.

How to get started: Phone and make a free appointment with Alex or one of the other teachers. They will tell you about the studio and introduce you to a few dances. (If there is no answer, leave a message, it means that all of the teachers are with students.)

Salsa: Alex loves all type of dance but if he had to choose a favorite it would be Salsa. With so many places in Toronto to Salsa, it's the perfect dance for Alex's level of energy for dancing. It's not unusual to find him at the popular Salsa clubs with students or friends many nights a week. Manhattan Fuel (previously called Berlin), El Rancho, and Ba-ba-lúu are just a few, check out: Salsaspot.com or TOSalsa.com for more club listings.

Swing: Swing is popular at the Reservoir Lounge, Alley Catz, and Lula Lounge. DancingList.com is a good source for additional locations to Swing.

Ballroom: At Ballroom venues you will see people dancing beautifully to most of the dances taught at the Let's Learn to Dance studio. Some favorite studio spots are Famee Furlane, 30-Up Club and The Old Mill. For other venues visit: DancingList.com
